tep-by-Step: How to Crochet a Super Easy, Flower Inspired Shawl! Beginner Level Pattern – Cassia!
Hey, fiber friend! I hope you’re having the most AMAZING day! I’m so extraordinarily delighted to share with you a super lacy, scrunchable, floral inspired, crochet shawl pattern – Cassia! In this video, I demonstrate all of the stitches that you’ll need to know to crochet this design, while also making a miniature version. And you’ll also learn how to crochet a beautiful, little, flower petal border! So grab a copy of the pattern, your yarn and hooks, and get ready to cast on with me!
Cassia uses our beloved Dewy DK yarn, which is squishy and plump and ideal for beginners. It is made with 70% Superwash Merino Wool, 20% Nylon, and 10% Silk. Fabulous for everything from blankets and sweaters to guy or gal accessories, baby items, household items, and more. You’re gonna love it! 250 yd/230 m per skein.
The sample shown here used 4 skeins of our Dewy DK yarn and was made in our Oxblood colorway. Approximately 840 yards (768 meters) total were used. The design is customizable, but may require additional yardage. Our colors come and go rapidly, so please grab any you love!

Everything you make is always so elegant and gorgeous. I really appreciate your tutorials. I am able to crochet things that I would not try if it werent for the help from the videos. Thank you for time you take to make these, and for the beautiful yarns you have available. I have never been disappointed with any yarn I have ordered. Have a wonderful day!!!
What a fun pattern! Love that Cassia stitch so much!!! I loved making the Lily shawl and my niece wears it a lot. I guess I need to make me this wrap! My list keeps growing. I’m making her a bucket hat now, so the Lady Eve shawl is waiting. Love and hugs!!!
Love, love, love this pattern! So simple yet gorgeous and elegant! Adding this to my ever-growing list of EFA patterns to make 🙂 I love the colourway as well. It’s definitely one of my favourites in every base I’ve seen it in on the website (from the pictures anyway), so it’s one that’s on my list to order at some point. (I’m hoping for it to come back in the cashsilk sock base as well since it just looks so velvety and luscious in the photos.) I adore that yellow colour that you were showcasing the Dewy DK base with, too, and I don’t think I’ve seen it on the site before. Is it new? Have I somehow missed it?!? It’s so bright and sunny — and gorgeous! Reminds me of beautiful summer days in childhood. Thank you as always for the great tutorial! 💖
Hi Chandi! I found your channel a month back and I have made your lovely lace and ondinea shawls. I have been knitting for so many years but patterns scared me! Your easy and approachable teaching style gave me the confidence to finally give patterns a try! I even learned how to knit faster from watching your tutorials. This is such a cool shawl and I really wish there was a knitting version of this pattern, but I know that’s probably not possible due to the nature of the lace. Who knows, at the rate I’m learning, maybe I’ll just learn to crochet too just to make this shawl. Even though crocheting terrifies me! Anyway, I just wanted to thank you and let you know what a difference you’ve made for even one person!
